Yesterday (March 11) at about 2:38pm EST, we transitioned WIRE to analog acquisition. By the next pass, we had clearly acquired the sun. The battery is fully charged. We turned on the WIE box to gain some transient thermal information. The WIE should remain on for the next week or so. Today we will transition to ACE safehold and then SCS safehold. We will power on the wheels and gyros and perhaps the tracker and collect data over the weekend. On Monday we will transition to ZSP, and on Tuesday we will upload timelines from IPAC and test out the stellar point mode. I wish we could have reached this point a week ago.
Congratulations to Tom Correll and the rest of the ACS team for a well-executed despin and safehold transition. And thanks to everyone else, especially the flight operations team, for their efforts over this last week.
