Launch abort yesterday!

We will try again March 4th! Check the launch page for near-real time text coverage of the launch.

Less than a minute before drop, the launch was called off due to a problem with the Pegasus rocket (Orbital Press Release). This morning, when we tried to reconnect the liquid helium to the cryostat, we had a problem with a stuck valve. Our engineers spent the better part of the day assessing the situation, and at about 4:30pm PST executed a procedure which opened the valve. We immediately started flowing liquid helium and re-freezing the hydrogen. Meanwhile, Orbital has worked their problem and will finish tomorrow. We will run our spacecraft functional tomorrow to check everything else out, and we should be ready for a March 4th launch at approximately 6:57pm PST.
